As the Graphic Designer of Powerhouse, Gowoon Choi has been in the field for over ten years. After receiving his B.A. in Industrial Design, Gowoon started his career from one of the top advertisement company in Korea. With his knowledge of the principal of design, production of graphics, colors, and layout methods, he was able to perform his work in diverse fields without any limitations. Some of his advertisements became well known in public and was recognized by other public media. Gowoon’s work varies from phamplets and brochures to television and media advertisement and designing for corporate products.
Gowoon’s expertise does not stop at design. Because of his ability in photography, he was able to use this skill to contribute in advertisements by taking most of the pictures. With his background in color correction and knowledge of file compression, he was able to take photos and include them in advertisements. Not only he applies for the pictures but with his strong abilities, he has experienced to arrange and took control over TV advertisements from scratch to the end.
Some noteworthy projects that Gowoon participated in included the creation of media advertisements for LG Telecomm. Hyundai was also one of his clients, which he produced designs for the launch of the ‘Veracruz.’ Many print advertisements were generated for such companies like Coca-Cola, CJ America, Panasonic and Dell.
During his time at Powerhouse, Gowoon developed print advertisements for the 2009 World Baseball Classics, while Powerhouse was the Official Asian Agent. Amongst the WBC, he also created prints for the 2009 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which created a buzz in the Asian American community. Most of the designs that are on the Powerhouse website are those of Gowoon Choi.
